OLD FURNITURE into a NEW LOOK

This was my friends cottage home about a year

ago, that was work in progress. But I'm here to show

you the wonderful results with her hand

me down furniture from her Grandparents.

My friend has it all when it comes to great furniture

pieces. In this room is the coffee table,

two side tables, the couch, two chairs that

were painted white and she added

new upholstering. Isn't the animal print fabulous?

I'm sorry I don't have any before pictures,

but it really made a huge difference with the

way it looks now.

I think she really made out with her

hand me downs don't you think? .... and

did a marvelous job creating a new exciting look.

Said My Goodbyes to my old Cottage and on with A NEW HOME AND A CAT-

Hi Girls,

My landlord went into foreclosure and then the county took it

over. It was all meant to be and because of it my husband and I

bought our own home and moved in during the

Labor Day weekend.

I thought I would share some old pictures of

my living room space at the rented cottage. It was

updated somewhat, but I never got around taking any more

recent pictures of that room or any other room for that

matter..... darn it I wish I did! Anyways, after finding out

about what took place... I immediately started looking

for a place to live and boy did I find something grand.

I am totally happy with our new home and it's going

to be a pleasure decorating it inside as well as the outside.

What a relief getting our own home and not be concern

about this and that when renting. Hopefully I'll have

a picture of our New Home.

I also want to mention about this awesome cat we now have in our

life. Something I would never thought in a million years would

ever have. I am not a Cat person, but It just goes to show

you never know what's going to take place in your life. This is an old

picture of our stray cat with some booboos at the time when

he was out there trying to survive last November. He was starving

to death and also cold and before you know it he's now spoiled

and loved very much. I got him neutered and he had all

his shots.

He's now our Baby along with our loved birdies. Yes, it's not

the ideal situation, but I do have it all worked out.

Aren't these precious - these were made by Lynn from

Teacupstiches and she went

out of her way to make them for me after

the original giveaway (which was totally a

different thing all together)

was lost in the mail. What a sweet,

kind person she is.... just her style. I had always

wanted some of these and now I have two.

I was excited to win something from

Julie Marie on her blog called Idyllhours and

I adore the mug which I use

quite a bit.... nothing like pink roses.

Here is another great gift, handmade cards made

by Mo herself at Mo's Cottage. I'm still holding on to them...

I just can't seem to part with them just yet.

And lastly this sweet cup & saucer along with

many other extra items Mary had sent me

from her blog called Contrary Mary.

probably like these pictures.

I got these several years ago on Rate My Space

and saved them on my photo library. I don't know

who this home belongs to, but it caught my eye

at the time and still does. She might of changed

since then, as we all do in decorating, but isn't

this pretty? If anybody out there recognizes

this lovely home, please get in touch with me

~~~~~Shuffling things around......

It all started out with this candle chandelier

which goes outside on my porch during

the warmer months.... then I'm stuck

with a hook in the ceiling with nothing on it.

So I ended up putting this basket in its place.

Now, it's on the table in my living room

because

I spotted THIS and purchased it thinking

I was going to give it to my sister. Well, that

never happen. I decided to keep it for

myself and it ended up where the basket was.

Now, it is on my table for Fall.

All I have to do is put some tidbits

on the stand and I'll be all set.

Happy Fall everyone, enjoy it

while it last, for it won't be long for winter. Yikes!!

PINK SATURDAY #5 ((VIGNETTE & YARD SALE DELIGHTS)

It's been awhile since my last post, wouldn't you say?

So on this fine Pink Saturday I'm introducing

a vignette with some weeds as the main

attraction. hehe Hey, if you don't have flowers

to use at the time, why not go out to to your

backyard and fine something to your liking. Well in

my case I live in a rural area with fields, so it

was easy for me. Being as it was in late fall

of last year if not early winter, this is what I found.

I thought it would make an interesting setting.

Here is another thing I would like to share with

you a couple of yard sale delights that

I got a few years ago.

A chair, which was a redo, from dark wood to white

with some stressing and a darling

sheer skirt added to the bottom.

Next, is this charming serving piece that I'm

absolutely crazy about.... It has three pieces to it

and can be separated which is

a good thing too. It also has the

perfect shade of pink with gold edging and it's scrolly

which I find myself attracted to things like that.

Every time I see this piece it reminds me of

what I would love to do if I had an extra bathroom

having it in Pink and Gold with the french

style look to it!

RECENT Updo...

FROM THAT...

TO THIS...

FROM LEFT OVER RUFFLES THAT I USED

FOR THE BOTTOM LAMP I DID A LONG TIME AGO.

I got this ruffle roll I think from Walmart and

it certainly did the trick for the look I wanted to achieve

with the bigger lamps, but now also with the little ones.

All I did was glue it on and there you go. The other

two lamps was something my mom had and I didn't

quite liked how they looked in the kitchen.... so rather not

buy something else I spruced them up somewhat with

ruffle material that I had and painted all the

yellow roses with glass paint and also the brass

parts in white. I think they turned out great and

blend in with the kitchen a little bit better.

I don't sew and I don't particularly care too,

and knowing there are so many people

that do.... I rather pay somebody to

do it for me or find something that will work

for me the easy way.

Are some of you wondering

what is that thing above her mantel? Well, It's a

chicken feeder that I got at a fantastic Antique Store.

If you look closely there is writing in

the front of it and also in the back too.

The owner of the shop carries a lot of enticing treasures

that I find hard to resist every time I go into that place

and this is one of them. It's very long, narrow and

interesting..... a piece that is versatile, which I

like so I can do different things with it according

to my moods when decorating. I find this so adorable

and just had to have it (smiling)... you

know what I mean.

My little bowls line up quite nicely in this thingy. I do

paint a lot of things that come into my house, but

this is one thingy I'm keeping the way it is.

UPDATE ON MY BITE; For all the ones that commented and emailed me with your concerns... I thank you all for caring and wanting to know about my condition. I am back and running with no problems.... I end up soaking my foot with epsom salt and that seem to do the trick

and I am now 100% better.

Thank you for all your wonderful comments on my

home and my toe bite. (giggling)

This is a section of my living room

where I was trying to get some relief

from all the hot weather we were

getting here in Michigan. My husband and I

rent a little cottage out in the boonies and we

love it here. The only thing I wish we

had is air conditioning when the weather

gets 90 something with high humidity. It can

get pretty sticky without it, but today finally

has gotten cooler.

Unfortunately I got stung by something

today on my toe. Not sure what it was, but

I went into a frenzy and killed whatever

it was in the long grass by rubbing my

foot hard into it. No sense of finding it,

but boy does it hurt, and now it's quite swollen.

What the heck was it? A bee, wasp, a spider who knows....

Now I can barely walk... I hope this won't last long.

MY Corner Cabinet-

This is the corner of my dining area

what it looked like before.....

I always wanted a corner cabinet, passing so many by

because I thought I didn't have the room.

Welllll... I couldn't pass up on a deal

when I was offered a cabinet for free. So I

took it home.... clean it up, painted it

and their you have it.

I decided to put it in this corner, and that meant

it had to be lifted up and nailed to the

wall, because of the water base heater that

is on that side of the wall. Of course I had to get my

husband involved and used him once again for

the many projects that I create. Sometimes

you hear a little bit of murmuring, but after it's

done and over he really does appreciate it.

I am so well pleased with the way it turn out, but

after it was done I had a little dilemma

trying to figure out where to put everything else

in it's place. I know most of you women can

relate to that when you bring home a goodie it

usually means the house may be in an uproar

for awhile until it all comes together

and that it did!

Now for the next project.... hehehe

Hi Ladies, I know It's been awhile, let's just say

I had Blog Fever. Sorry for the ones

that visits my blog seeing the same

thing over again but TODAY IS A NEW POST.

My husband and I attended a Graduation Party and

enjoyed ourselves very much with the fellowship

we had along with great food

and yummy desserts.

I was also able to take some pictures of the Thomas's

lovely home while I was there. I would like to take more

pictures when the home is cleared out from

guest, but this will do for now.

The Thomas people are very talented

when it comes to music and this happens

to be one of the rooms where they play

the piano, singing beautiful anointed songs.

This is my favorite space.... liking the black with the

taupe and white colors.... very elegant,

rich and unique. Black is another color

I have to have in at least in one room or another.

I do have it in the Utility/ Bathroom

and in a bedroom that I'm working on. That

will be another post sometime in the future.

Look at the lamps and the stylish lampshades.

Aren't they Great?

A little bit more lovely displays of beauty from

there home and that will be it for now.

Get ready girls, your taking a tour of a

shop called Before and After.

I took some pictures, to give you an

idea how fabulous this place is.

Actually, the pictures I took doesn't give

this place justice, but to see it in person

just takes your breath away.

As soon as you walk in you see beautiful

creamy whites on just about everything

with touches of color here and there.

The richness of the taupe walls...

the beautiful silver and glass items

even prints of simple images look

fantastic. I really like this one....

and the pink chargers too.

Unique furniture and interesting

architectural pieces are throughout

the shop, and they don't last.

Every time I step into this place I get so inspired,

but the downside of it all is when I

get home, I want to get rid of everything

to start over....... Oh yeah, my husband

would love that idea.

That reminds me when I do go out looking

for bargains, he always says

My wife is out there

saving me money.

lol

I would like to have taken more pictures, but I

got so involved talking with the woman

who owns the shop.

let me just say this..... this womans got it

going on..... she's incredible!

Maybe she'll let me take pictures

of her home for another time.

It's been a hectic week and I NEED TO GET READY for a special Prayer Partner Event where all us ladies from church meet up at a special place to reveal who we had for the whole year.... I have participated in some Pink Saturdays before, but I thought how appropriate to start out blogging again by sharing with you a few photo's of my Wedding Shower and my Wedding Day for this Pink Saturday 2010. After all it was all done in white and pink, even then I was very fond of those colors.

Here is a picture of my sister, me, and my mom 22 years ago. We were about to have guest arriving soon for my wedding shower which was held in an apartment my sister and I shared. In the background was a huge heart filled with pom pom's made out of tissue paper ( I'm sure most of you were familiar with those) tacked to the wall.

Actually everything went very well that day, plenty of room for everybody to sit comfortably...... and the food was fantastic.

Romance was in the air back in the year of 1987, when I finally made the decision to marry the man I had always loved after many years of dating since we were teenagers. My only regret was that I wish I would of said yes when he proposed to me earlier in my life. The day we got married is the day I will never forget because not only did I marry my husband for life, it was the last big event for the family to ever be together again. From that day forward, most of my mom's side of the family had died along with some other relatives. My life had changed tremendously each passing day, but my deep love for my husband had stayed the same if not more.....

I love you Darling!!
